Hi,
I'm once again using this little text box to vent and give you some idea of who I am (in case you're interested enough to know).
I have been doing this for quite some time, and although it has never made me particularly successful or popular, it has allowed me to support myself, move out of my parents’ home, improve my quality of life, and accomplish things I might not otherwise have been able to achieve. However, over the years, I have increasingly felt that this chapter of my life is coming to an end. I have recently resumed my studies after a long interruption caused by personal and financial difficulties, and I hope that this will eventually allow me to build a more stable future outside of this work.
My circumstances became significantly more difficult after a devastating earthquake struck the city where I live approximately two months ago. I am deeply grateful that my loved ones and I survived, but I lost my apartment and many of the memories associated with it. I have had to return to my parents’ home and adapt to a reality that has been emotionally, financially, and personally challenging.
I have always been a relatively lonely person, with a small social circle and limited opportunities for interaction outside of the internet. As a result, this platform has been one of the few places where I have been able to experience a sense of connection with others. Returning here after the earthquake has therefore been particularly difficult, especially after realizing that some people I once considered friends did not seem to care about what had happened to me. Seeing people who used to speak with me regularly appear without acknowledging me has made me reflect on the nature of the relationships I have built here and on how easily online connections can disappear.
I do not share this in search of pity or sympathy. I understand that everyone has their own difficulties, and I have become accustomed to struggling without much recognition. Rather, I wanted to offer a glimpse into the person behind the screen and remind people that there is often much more happening in someone’s life than what they see online. What may appear exciting or effortless from the outside can, in reality, be accompanied by loneliness, uncertainty, and personal hardship.
I hope that sharing this perspective is not taken negatively. I simply wanted to be honest about what life has been like on the other side of the screen.
